Interesting Science Updates

Making Diamonds
This month’s issue of Wired talks about Diamonds being created in a lab for $5 a carat, up to 3 carats each and possibly bigger soon. Both a great blow to DeBeers but also a GREAT way to make computers faster by using Diamond (higher thermal conductivity) instead of Silicon.
“It’s too perfect to be natural. Things in nature, they have flaws. The growth structure of this diamond is flawless.”
