Hi, So my tin foil hat is on now.

to ask for some pictures. I really want to see what happened to my server and 9000 others and 700,000 websites. Waited patiently, I know their staff is busy so I waited a day. Now its been 4 full days, and not a single picture is posted. The only pictures they have posted are ones showing the building completely fine, with not an ounce of smoke damage.

Then I find this article:

Observers on the scene indicated they didn’t see a single fire truck or emergency vehicle during the incident. We contacted the Houston Fire Department who indicated that they had no idea what we were talking about.

and my interest is piqued!

I feel something big is in the works.

So, one of the data centers in Houston, TX, where I host my servers is caught fire. Not just caught fire, but a transformer EXPLODED, destroying 3 walls, and then catching fire. The data center was and is completely shut down. Thankfully I have backups of most everything, and I just pointed the DNS over. They tell me my server is fine, but the backup power didn’t come on because the Fire Marshal said NO.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Unfortunately, the DNS servers for NS1.ev1servers.net and NS2, are BOTH IN THE SAME DATA CENTER!!! Grr!! for you non-techie people, that means to reach www.idreamincode.com, I need to tell it to look somewhere to change the IP address its hosted on, to this domain. And so, I spent most of the night, changing the DNS records for my sites, so that they stay up and running. I really wish I could have spent it with Matt and Beth, it would have been much better.
