28-105mm lens

Protoscrew shield for Arduino

Cables

Project box

Velcro

The user walks up to the Easy button, presses it and the camera takes 4 pictures. Wirelessly, the EyeFi pro card transfers images over to the laptop and there is script running in the background to take the images in that directory and print them out with a wedding photo of Andrew and Jenn.

Click here to view the embedded video.

The whole thing takes about 1 minute and 30 seconds from press of the easy button to print out. The guests get to keep a cool souvenir, then Andrew and Jenn get to have the pictures afterward stored on the computer.

If you want to get more technical, the script running on the computer is a simple python script looking for 4 images. Hopefully, I’ll be able to just walk around the place, take 4 pictures, and have them automatically printed. We will see.

Edit:

This is basically what is inside the box. Just replace the mic with the easy button. There are a couple of transistors and resistors connecting the wires to the 2.5mm Canon Rebel jack.

On the circuit board is PixMob G2 “Summer into Dust” edition v. 1.3 03-2011

I’m looking for ways to turn my device back on, so if you know how, please let me know in the comments!

Arcade Fire is amazing! These colored beach balls put a cherry on top of their already amazing concert

EDIT: found a way to turn on the lights again. Take the Mic, and touch the metal of it to the center line of Q2 for Green, Q3 for Blue and Q1 for Red. (Thanks Matt)

I’m not sure what the device in between the 2nd layer and the clear plastic is. I think its an IR receiver but I can’t find another one online that looks like it.

Update 4/18 10:27: I tried playing back the Arcade Fire concert from Coachella’s video feed and nothing happened with the LEDs.

Update 4/19: Seriously?? Some D-Bag is selling his on EBay for $999 + shipping. This may be $30 in electronics and a $2 beach ball.

So this app I’ve been using is pretty great (Gcal2Excel):
http://code.google.com/p/gcal2excel/

It takes your Google Calendar, converts it to an Excel spread sheet, and calculates how much time you’ve worked over the time period. Very cool!

But it had a few drawbacks… Like it didn’t show a description or the location where the events took place. Big drawbacks when I’m trying to do a time sheet with all my mileage on it.

So I made a few improvements:

Here it is(3mb)

Shows Description

Location

All updated libraries

I don’t ever have to fill out a time sheet ever again, just type in an event into my Blackberry, and its logged and easily billed for.

Verizon wireless blocks all incoming ports

Ok, so this may be a little techie, but I need to rant. I’ve had Verizon’s wireless laptop card/ (now transitioned to my Blackberry) for almost 3 years now and its VERY fast. I love being able to just plug in anywhere and get on the internet at up to 1000kbps. They are still very fast, that’s not what I ‘m ranting about…

What happened, less than a month ago, is they started to BLOCK all incoming ports. Which means I can no longer have someone remote into my computer when I’m out on a job site, or connect directly in any way through VNC or any web server protocol. It’s very annoying and did not use to be like that.

Why I’m really pissed is that I have a trade show this next week where we are showing off our remote lighting controls for recreational ball fields, and I need people to be able to log directly into my laptop at the show to control the lights from their blackberries/iphones/web enabled phones. It will be great fun but Verizon is trying to kill it.

I talked with Verizon tech support and the first lady told me they don’t block ANY ports and it was on my end. I told her I don’t think so. It works just fine with any other connection. I finally got to upper tech support and he read me my TOS, and said those ports should have been blocked forever and I was lucky to get them through until now.

Long story short, I now have to VPN into my home network, then I can do everything I want. It will work for the show, so HA.

Stupid Verizon. You are on notice.
